James Zhang

James Zhang is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in software engineering, research, and artificial intelligence, holding the position of Managing Director of Forecasting and Strategy AI Platform at Ant Group since September 2018. In this role, James manages global teams to drive AI innovations across financial sectors, enhance prediction accuracy, and implement advanced behavioral prediction methodologies. Prior to this, James served as a Senior Software/Research Engineer at Bloomberg LP, where contributions included founding the Bloomberg ML/Quant forum and initiating machine learning research. James's extensive background includes academic positions as a post-doctoral fellow focused on network optimization, as well as significant roles in companies such as Idilia, GestureTek Inc., and Liska Biometry Inc., underpinning a robust foundation in electrical engineering with a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa.
