Accountant, Development Accounting (calgary)

You will

  • Perform full cycle accounting on a project by project basis

  • Monitor, review, and reconcile: budgets and construction loan draw requests

  • Prepare monthly bank and loan reconciliations

  • Prepare financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures for multiple project entities

  • Prepare and analyze working papers for project entities

  • Ensure that financial information provided is timely and relevant for effective decision making

  • Ongoing monitoring of project financing requirements, partner contributions/distributions, and all other aspects of cash flow management

  • Update and review the Calgary land development proformas to ensure they accurately reflect the current team vision

  • Work closely with the project teams to gain a thorough understanding of the projects, and an awareness of potential risk items that could impact project budgets or cashflows

You are

  • Accurate, detail-oriented and very organized

  • A roll up your sleeves attitude, with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • An independent worker with a proactive approach

You have

  • A Professional Accounting Designation and/or 5+years of experience in a similar role

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Yardi

  • Proven ability to work with multiple projects

  • Real Estate industry experience (preferred)

  • Excellent communication and people skills
