She is a legal assistant in the mental health and Court of Protection health and welfare team. She work with clients who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, on section whilst in hospital. She also work with vulnerable adults who are deprived of their liberty, in a care home or hospital, who wish to challenge the authorisation that keeps them there. Additionally, She assist the family members in Court of Protection proceedings that concern their loved ones.
She had worked within the mental health/Court of Protection health and welfare team for four years. She first started working as a secretary and gained her experience working alongside solicitors within the sector. She had recently taken on the position of a legal assistant and now have a more hands-on role in assisting the clients through what is a very emotional and difficult time for them.
