Franklin Volcic

Franklin Volcic is an experienced professional in applied AI and software engineering, currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Anthropic since October 2025. Volcic is also the Founder of Shape AI, which enables users to build websites effortlessly. Previous roles include Forward Deployed Engineer at Handshake and Software Engineer at Formant, focusing on empowering AI agents within robotics. Academic experience includes multiple teaching assistant positions at the University of Michigan College of Engineering, covering advanced robotics coursework and programming paradigms. Volcic co-founded Hermes Path, a consulting firm specializing in Helium network optimization, and has served as a Computer Science instructor at Cass Tech High School. Franklin Volcic earned a degree in Computer Science with an Honors distinction and a Mathematics Minor from the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
