The Opportunity

We are looking for a 6-months intern to join our development A-team as of September 2024. In this internship, you will work within the mechatronics team on our cutting-edge robot developments, which offers you the possibility to experience and contribute to various development and production aspects of our systems. We develop numerous customized mechatronic systems, including the entire robotic platform, computing hardware, sensor integration and software development

ANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality and consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics electrical hardware.

Your Profile

  • Design, develop, and test software for robotic systems, focusing on integration of novel hardware components
  • Implement and test various communication interfaces such as ethernet, serial communication, CAN, and MIPI
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware components
  • Support testing campaigns and investigations of custom electronic systems

Your Profile

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Basic knowledge of kernel development and device tree adaptation for Linux-based systems
  • Basic experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms and related development tools
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team and to propose new design ideas
  • Good communication skills in English both verbally and in writing

Bonus Points

  • Basic understanding of electronics and electronic systems
  • Familiarity with robotics frameworks such as ROS1/ROS2
