Rick Timmer

Rick is a Senior Associate on Anzu’s Intellectual Property team, and a Senior Patent Agent with Innovators Legal. Previously, he was a patent agent with various large, medium and boutique law firms. Prior to that, Rick was involved in a number of biotech start-up companies in both Toronto and Atlanta in leadership roles, including CEO. Before entering the private sector, he was a faculty member at Emory University School of Medicine and a postdoctoral fellow at both Emory and The University of Texas at Austin. Rick has a B.A. in Chemistry from Macalester College; and a M.S. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UT-Austin. Between undergraduate and graduate studies, he was a researcher at 3M in Saint Paul focused on polymers used in magnetic storage media.
