Lian Zhu

Lian Zhu has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 2005 as a Contributing Writer and Journalist Intern for Southern Weekly. In 2011, they held the role of Research Assistant at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and also acted as Interpreter and Project Coordinator for the China US Center for Sustainable Development. That same year, they were an Intern for the International Criminal Court - Cour Pénale Internationale. In 2012, they were a Lead Chinese Linguist for LocLabs, and a Localization Specialist for Kindle Digital Products at Amazon. From 2015 to 2019, they worked at Netflix in various roles, including Program Manager Localization Solutions and Regional Language Manager. In 2017, they were Founder and CEO of Internest Inc., and since 2022 they have been Co-founder and CEO of Aperture Finance.

Lian Zhu is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration - EMBA from the University of California, Berkeley, which is expected to be completed in 2022. In 2021, they obtained a Certificate from Fudan University in the field of "Innovative China: towards sustainable growth" and a Certificate from Yale School of Management in the field of Behavioral Science. In 2018 and 2019, they obtained a Foundations in Computer Science Graduate Certificate from Stanford University. Lian also holds a MA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, a BA from Sun Yat-sen University, and a Certificate for English Interpretation: Level II from the National Accreditation Examinations for Translators and Interpreters (NAETI). Additionally, Lian Zhu has obtained several certifications, including an edX Verified Certificate for The Foundations of Happiness at Work in 2022, a Customers First: Competing in the Global Marketplace from Amazon in 2021, a Financial Accounting Foundations from LinkedIn in 2020, a Fundamentals of Music Theory from The University of Edinburgh in 2017, and an Alias-Maya Certified: Basic Maya Animation Designer Certificate in 2004.
