About the Job

The Software Engineer is an integral part of the creative and development team for ApexDrop’s App and Mobile Website. She or he will participate in the complete project development life cycle from requirements, definition, and analysis to development and will proactively present ideas and solutions to the team. 

Essential Functions:

• Experience designing for mobile/desktop applications
• Strong visual and conceptual thinking rooted in form and function through storytelling, typography, iconography, color theory, hierarchy, and layout for all screen sizes.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and be able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work collaboratively with partner designers, copywriters, and developers
• Knowledge of development “best practices”
• Able to define the look and feel of large, industry-leading sites and interpret brand standards when provided with compelling digital translations
• Familiarity with current advertising and design trends, and practical knowledge of the web and multimedia technology
• Testing and optimizing features and content for each project

Experience & Requirements

• Must love to code

• Ability to balance attention to detail with moving quickly on projects

• Ability to clearly communicate complex and technical ideas

• The first to their code when there is evidence of better approaches

• A keen understanding of what the customers want and what drives value and priority

• A willingness to test and retest code to ensure optimal performance

• Proactive attitude in debugging and bugfixing, even when it’s not your code

• 5+ years of front-end web development experience

• Familiarity with NextJS / React JS as the front-end Javascript framework

• CSS, HTML and Javascript/jQuery skills

• Fluency in CSS, HTML and Javascript/jQuery and related technologies like AJAX, JSON, and HTML

• Experience with React Native

• Experience with API development

• Experience with HTML5

• Experience with app development

• Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent time management skills

• A problem-solver who brings answers and ideas to the table at the same time as challenges

• Must be highly organized and able to juggle multiple tasks and requests

• Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure and tight timelines

• Agency experience preferred

• Agile experience preferred
