David Oaks

David Oaks has a solid work experience in the field of quality assurance and engineering. David is currently working at Apexon as a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, where they lead the QA automation of a web platform for Ally Financial customers. David utilizes the Cucumber framework and Cypress tools for organizing and executing tests.

Prior to their current role, David worked at Apkudo as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, where they led a QA automation team using Selenium tools coded in Java to test the Web UI for Apkudo product offerings. David also designed the majority of the code architecture from scratch over the course of 2+ years.

Before Apkudo, David worked at Creston Electronics as a Quality Engineer, where they designed hardware configurations for testing new products and developed test plans. David was responsible for physically building out setups, ensuring correct networking, and verifying system functionality.

David also has experience as a System Engineer at Motorola Solutions, where they developed hardware equipment lists for custom-designed land mobile radio projects and programmed mobile radios for communication. David also obtained a CompTIA Network+ certification through networking course requirements.

Lastly, David worked as a Fire Protection Engineer at the National Nuclear Security Administration, where they improved fire safety through on-site inspections and revised Fire Protection Programs to comply with standards. David completed academic courses in project management, contracts, leadership techniques, and teambuilding strategies during their time in this role.

David Oaks obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, which they attended from 2008 to 2010. David further pursued their education at the same university and earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Telecommunications Engineering, completing their studies from 2013 to 2015. In addition to their degrees, David also obtained a Network+ certification from CompTIA in October 2014.
