Senior Engineer (devops/devsecops) at Apexon

Kumar Gourav has a solid background in DevOps and DevSecOps, with experience at multiple companies. Kumar began their career as a Software Engineer (DevOps) at Wipro in 2017, where they managed an Amazon EC2 instance and implemented AWS DNS setup and security group hardening. Kumar then joined Mercedes Benz Research & Development of India as an Application Support Engineer in 2018, where they utilized Jenkins for cloud-based monolithic apps and managed source code repositories.

In 2019, Kumar joined ChoiceWORX as a DevOps Engineer, where they set up development, staging, and production environments and automated routines using Python. Kumar was later promoted to the position of Senior DevSecOps Engineer, where they played a key role in establishing the AI platform's installation and configuration and implemented Jenkins-powered automated build and deployment processes.

Most recently, Kumar worked at Apexon as a Senior DevOps/DevSecOps Engineer, starting in 2021. In this role, they were responsible for Azure environment setup, including the creation and management of various Azure resources. Kumar also designed and set up Azure Virtual Networks and implemented security policies. Additionally, they utilized Terraform and Terragrunt to set up the Demo Environment on AWS and deployed AWS services to Kubernetes clusters using Helm.

Throughout their career, Kumar has consistently demonstrated a strong understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps principles and has proven their ability to effectively implement and manage various cloud platforms and automation tools.

Kumar Gourav completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha, from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their XII from D.A.V PUBLIC SCHOOL GANDHINAGAR, RANCHI, JHARKHAND in 2011 and their X from the same school in 2009.

Additionally, Kumar Gourav has obtained several certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate from Microsoft in March 2023, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2022, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate from HashiCorp in December 2021, and CERTIFIED KUBERNETES ADMINISTRATOR (CKA) from The Linux Foundation in October 2021.
