Julie Thompson is the current Assistant Director of New Build at APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT INC. Julie previously worked as the Finance Coordinator at Appalachia Service Project from May 2015 to August 2016. In their role as Finance Coordinator, Julie was responsible for applying for and receiving grant funding, tracking a budget, collecting and recording donations, fundraising, meeting deadlines for grant assignments, and developing and maintaining community relations. Julie also worked with a team to select and coordinate projects for low-income families throughout Central Appalachia, utilizing resources including subcontractors and construction consultants. In addition, they organized, instructed and managed 500+ skilled and unskilled volunteers in construction projects and created and led evening programming curriculum to provide a transformative experience for 70-85 volunteers per week.
Julie Thompson has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). Julie also has a certification from the Red Cross in Lifeguard Certification.
