Luis Bernal-Jimenez

Luis Bernal-Jimenez serves as the Deputy General Counsel for the Appalachian Regional Commission since December 2021. Prior to this role, Luis worked at USDA Rural Development from June 2014 to December 2021 as an Energy Advisor and Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Rural Utilities Service. Luis also gained experience as an Energy Advisor at Bernal Energy Advisors, LLC from February 2013 to June 2014, and served as the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Energy Affairs Administration from January 2009 to August 2012. Luis holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Energy and Environmental Law from The George Washington University, a Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, and a Bachelor of Arts in Labor Relations from the University of Puerto Rico.
