Software Engineer at AppLand

Adam Trotta is a Software Engineer with experience in both self-employment and corporate roles. In 2022, they began working as a Software Engineer for AppLand. Prior to that, they were self-employed from 2020-2022, during which time they built Node.js applications with Express, Mongo, and PostgreSQL, a kanban board application with Express, Mongo, and React/Redux, and a todo tracking app with vanilla JavaScript. From 2018-2022, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University's Jacobsen Laboratory. In 2022, they also co-created and worked as a Software Engineer for Bastion, a scalable, open-source Backend-as-a-Service deployed to the cloud with AWS. Adam's roles included designing and creating Bastion, developing backend applications with Express and MongoDB, implementing Cloud Code functions with AWS Lambda, enabling Bastion to support multiple backends with AWS ECS, building an admin dashboard with React/Redux, automating Bastion cloud deployment with AWS CloudFormation, developing the Bastion SDK, and authoring a technical case study.

Adam Trotta began their educational journey in 2008 when they attended Tufts University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Adam continued their studies at Columbia University, graduating with a Master of Arts in Organic Chemistry in 2013. Following this, Adam attended Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry in 2018. Currently, Adam is enrolled at Launch School, studying Computer Software Engineering.
