Zachary Lee, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience. Zachary is currently working at Applied Intuition in an engineering role. Before that, they worked at Cornell University as a PhD candidate, where they developed data-driven control methods for multi-agent distributed energy resource systems. Zachary also served as a machine learning and research mentor, providing guidance to students on research and machine learning techniques. Prior to their time at Cornell, Zachary worked at Berkeley Lab as a research affiliate, conducting research on how smart home devices can provide services to the electrical grid. Zachary has also worked at Auburn University as an undergraduate research fellow, where they led a team in designing and building a prototype forklift arm for autonomous operation. Additionally, they acted as a tutor in the Heat Transfer Group, teaching senior Mechanical Engineering students. Earlier in their career, Zachary gained experience as a Mechanical Design Co-op at Southern Nuclear and as an Engineering Design Intern at Whorton Engineering Inc.
Zachary Lee, PhD, completed their education in mechanical engineering at both Auburn University and Cornell University. From 2014 to 2018, Zachary obtained a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree with a minor in Nuclear Power Generation Systems from Auburn University. Following this, they pursued further academic excellence at Cornell University from 2018 to 2022, where they successfully earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering.
