Shawn Chan

Shawn Chan has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Currently, they are the Vice President and Head of Manufacturing at Applied Molecular Transport, where they successfully launched a new facility and oversaw the validation and tech transfer processes. Shawn also managed the clinical supply chain, warehouse, and facility operations.

Prior to their current role, Shawn worked at Gritstone Oncology as a Senior Director of Manufacturing. Here, they played a key role in starting new processes for various therapies and led the construction of a new GMP facility. Shawn also completed IND filing and initiated the first GMP production runs to support clinical trials. Additionally, they managed Next Generation Sequencing labs in Cambridge, MA.

Before joining Gritstone Oncology, Shawn worked at Cellerant Therapeutics as an Associate Director of Manufacturing. Shawn managed multiple clinical sites for the supply of leukapheresis material and worked on a BARDA government contract. Shawn also handled various responsibilities related to managing Contract Manufacturing Organizations.

Earlier in their career, Shawn held roles at Zosano Pharma, Genitope Corp., Avigen, and Bayer, where they gained valuable experience in manufacturing and management.

Shawn Chan has a Bachelor's degree in Biology from San Francisco State University. The duration of their education is not provided.
