Doug Frater

Doug Frater has a diverse work experience in the field of business development and sales. Doug is currently working as a Business Development Manager at Applied Motion Products. Prior to this, Doug founded Frater Automation in 2019 and served as the President, focusing on motion control and automation sales. Doug also owned FIT Physical Therapy, LLC from 2013, where they handled sales, marketing, contracts, and business leadership.

Doug has worked for various automation companies, including Rockwell Automation as an Account Manager, OEM from 2020 to 2023, and Neff Power as the Director of Sales - Texas in 2019. Doug was also associated with Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. as a Senior Sales Engineer and Account Manager, where they focused on OEM direct sales and management of factory automation solutions.

In addition, Doug worked at Kollmorgen (Danaher) as a Business Development Manager and OEM Account Manager, responsible for direct sales and serving industries like postal automation, medical, defense, aerospace, and more. Doug earlier started their career at Parker Hannifin, where they held various roles, including Business Development Manager and Sales Application Engineer.

Doug's earlier experience includes working as an assistant to the president at Justifacts Credential Verification, Inc. and as a Senior System Engineer at Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics, where they were responsible for installing and ensuring the success of material handling systems at major automotive plants.

Doug Frater completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University in 1994. Doug also obtained a degree in "Author" from DesignNews Magazine, specializing in "Lower Costs, Smaller Sizes." Additionally, they studied Strategic Negotiations at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, specifically within the context of Danaher.
