Matthew Wilson

Matthew Wilson has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Matthew is currently working as a Principal Security Engineer at AppOmni since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Fifth Third Bank as a Cybersecurity Threat Product Owner from September 2022 to March 2023, and as a Principal Information Security Engineer from July 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining Fifth Third Bank, Matthew worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as an Associate from October 2019 to July 2020, where they designed and implemented a zero-trust software defined perimeter solution and custom services related to API and feed access. Matthew also had roles as an Information Security Specialist at Valvoline from February 2016 to September 2019, and at Ashland Inc from February 2016 to October 2016.

Matthew's earlier experience includes working at CBTS as a Cyber Security Event Analyst from July 2015 to February 2016, where they were responsible for alert triage, analysis, and escalation. Matthew also served as a Security Engineer at CBTS from February 2012 to July 2015.

Additionally, Matthew worked as a Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton from June 2010 to February 2012, where they primarily focused on network engineering projects for various Department of Defense clients. Prior to that, they held roles as Editor in Chief at Michigan Tech Lode from January 2007 to September 2009, and as an IT Assistant at Presidio Trust in both 2008 and 2009.

Matthew Wilson obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Network and System Administration from Michigan Technological University. Matthew also obtained the following certifications: RHCE and RHCSA from Red Hat in August 2011, Security+ from CompTIA in May 2010, GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware from GIAC Certifications in October 2017, CCNP from Cisco in January 2012, CCENT from Cisco in June 2009, and CCNA from Cisco in July 2009.
