Sophie Chiu

Sophie Chiu is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in equity research and investment. Currently serving as an Associate at AppWorks since September 2020, Sophie contributes to a leading AI/blockchain startup accelerator and early-stage venture capital firm in Greater Southeast Asia. Prior to this role, Sophie was a Vice President at Neuberger Berman from July 2016 to August 2020, focusing on the Emerging Market Equity Fund. Sophie's background includes positions as a Research Associate at Credit Suisse, covering the consumer sector in China and Hong Kong, and at J.P. Morgan, where equity research on Taiwan Strategy and Asian Financials was conducted. Earlier experiences also include research analysis on the European financial sector at Autonomous Research LLP and internships at Credit Suisse and UBS in equity derivatives sales. Sophie holds an MSc in Finance from the University of Warwick and a BBA in Finance from National Taiwan University.
