Javier Urbina

Javier Urbina, MBA, has extensive experience in the energy industry, specifically in wind turbines, solar energy, gas turbines, and energy storage projects. Javier is currently working as a Project Director for APR Energy, overseeing various renewable energy projects. Prior to this, they served as the Director and Global Operations Services Lead at Fluence, a Siemens and AES Company, where they specialized in energy storage. Javier also held senior positions at The AES Corporation, including Senior Asset Manager, Project Director for AES Mexico, and Asset Management and Performance Director for the AES Eurasia and AES Asia SBU. Earlier in their career, they worked at Shell WindEnergy Inc. as a Site Manager and at AES Wind Generation in various roles, including Team Leader, Performance Engineer, and Project Engineer. Urbina began their career at La Electricidad de Caracas as a Major Overhaul Coordinator for thermal power plants.

Javier Urbina, MBA has an extensive education history. Javier obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree with a Major in Mechanical Engineering from IUPFAN between 1989 and 1993. In 1999, they pursued a specialization in Project Management from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, which was a Project Management Institute Program. Javier further enhanced their knowledge in 2007 by completing the AES Emerging Leaders Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. In 2011, Javier earned their Master of Business Administration Degree with a Major in Business Administration from Hardin-Simmons University. Later in 2017, they participated in the AES Global Executive Leadership Program at Georgetown University. Additionally, they completed the UCAELI program at the University of Connecticut in 1999 and 2002.
