Lead Product Designer at Apricot

Irini Sarlis is a highly experienced product designer with a diverse background in various industries. Irini started their career in 2011 as a Web Development Intern at NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, where they gained valuable experience in web development. In 2011, they also worked as a Graphic Design Intern at Shobha, where they honed their design skills.

In 2013, Irini joined Queens College as a Web and Graphic Designer, where they further developed their design abilities. Irini then moved on to work at KAKE Digital in 2015 as a Graphic Design Intern, gaining valuable industry experience.

In 2015, Irini joined The Princeton Review as a Graphic Designer, where they worked on a wide variety of marketing materials, including ad designs, printed collateral, and logo design. Irini stayed with the company until 2018.

In 2018, Irini started their freelance career as a Product Designer, working on various projects ranging from product design to marketing design and branding. Irini created sketches, wireframes, mocks, and prototypes to demonstrate user flows and interactions for websites and apps. Irini also conducted competitive analysis and user interviews to validate assumptions and design landing pages and mobile apps.

In 2018, Irini also joined ShopKeep as a Visual Designer, where they led design projects from ideation to execution. Irini worked closely with various teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions. Irini left the company in 2021.

In 2021, Irini joined NOWwith as a UX/UI Designer, where they were part of a team that created a social platform that allowed consumers to shop products directly from video content. Irini worked on streamlining the checkout process and improving the user experience. Their tenure at NOWwith lasted until November 2021.

Most recently, Irini joined Apricot in 2021 as a Lead Product Designer. Apricot is an app that empowers women to run their shop from anywhere and earn a commission. Irini played a key role in designing the app and ensuring a seamless user experience.

In 2023, Irini will be starting a new role as a Senior Product Designer at Niche.

Irini Sarlis attended Designlab in 2020, where they studied Interaction & Product Design. Prior to that, in 2019, they took a course titled "Intro to UX: User Research" at The New School. In 2012, they graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design. Before their time at Queens College, they attended Borough of Manhattan Community College from 2008 to 2011, obtaining an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Web Page, Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design.
