Hooman Armand has worked in the water industry since 2011. Hooman began their career at Bristol Water plc as a Doctoral Student in 2011. In 2015, they joined South East Water UK as an Innovation Champion, Water Quality Distribution Scientist, and Water Safety Plan Scientist. In 2019, they moved to Southern Water as a Leakage Data Scientist and to Arcadis as a Smart Water Network Engineer. In 2020, they worked for Thames Water as a System Optimisation Engineer and Lower Thames Crossing as a Digital Transformation Consultant. Hooman is currently the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Aqua Alarm.

Hooman Armand has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering - Optimisation & Control of Water Supply Networks from Imperial College London, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Civil Engineering - Water Resources Management (Distinction) from the University of Birmingham. Hooman also holds certifications from CIWEM (The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management), Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), The Institute of Leadership & Management, and Energy & Utility Skills.
