Chunyu Cao

Electrical Engineer at Aquafortus

Chunyu Cao began their work experience as an Electrical Design Engineer at East China Electric Power Design Institue in July 2001. In this role, they were responsible for designing electrical construction drawings for power plants and HV substations. They also held the position of chief electrical design engineer, overseeing team management and schedule management. Chunyu worked at this company until May 2013.

In February 2014, Chunyu joined NZL Landscape Limited as a Project Manager, focusing on the landscape construction of garden renovations. Their responsibilities included on-site project management and customer communication. Chunyu remained with the company until July 2017.

Starting in September 2019, Chunyu worked at Home Touch Limited as an Electrical Engineer trainee. This Auckland-based company provided diverse services including electrical design and build. Chunyu held the role of assistant and trainee, supporting the electrical engineer. Their employment with Home Touch Limited lasted until July 2020.

Most recently, Chunyu joined Aquafortus Technologies in September 2021 as an Electrical Engineer. No end date has been given for this position.

Chunyu Cao received their Bachelor's degree of Engineering in Power System and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. In 2018 to 2019, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Level 7) with a specialization in Engineering (Power) at Manukau Institute of Technology.

In addition to their formal education, Chunyu Cao has also obtained various certifications. In September 2008, they obtained the Registered Qualification Certificate of Registered Electrical Engineer from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of The People's Republic of China. In December 2006, they received the Qualification Certificate of Specialty and Technology from China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation. Chunyu Cao also holds an Engineering New Zealand membership certificate obtained in August 2018. Most recently, in March 2022, they acquired a certification in The Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas from Competency Training (RTO 31299).
