Lucia B.

Lucia B. has over 20 years of work experience in the polymer and chemical industries. Lucia began their career in 2001 as a Research Trainee at Bayer, where they were involved in multi-step synthetic organic synthesis, structural determination, and analytical characterization. In 2003, they moved to Gomensoro Quimica (now Dura Europe SAU) as a Research and Development Assistant. In 2004, they joined SaarGummi Group as a Quality Control Technician, Rubbers, where they were responsible for the characterization of rubbers and quality control of extruded profiles for car door systems. In 2006, they moved to RTR Energia as a Research and Development Technician & Technologist, Thermosets Resins, where they were involved in product development, technical service, and manufacturing. In 2010, they joined Abengoa as a Senior R&D Polymer Chemist, Glass Fiber Composites, where they were the Project/Team Leader on the formulation of thermoplastic-glass fiber composites and providing start-up assistance in new recycling composites projects. In 2012, they joined Alphagary as a Senior Polymer Technologist, Thermoplastics Elastomers, where they were responsible for running research and development projects surrounding new and existing polymer materials. In 2011, they joined Tendeka as a Senior Polymer Technologist, Rubbers. In 2015, they moved to Ashland as a Project Leader, R&D Polymer Scientist, Structural Adhesives, where they were involved in product formulation and development, process operations, technical support, management on-site customer trials, assessment of new raw materials suitability, and developing testing protocols. In 2021, they joined Roxel UK as a Materials Manager and Senior Chemist. Currently, they are employed at Aquapak Polymers Ltd as a Technical Manager.

Lucia B. obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the Universidad CEU San Pablo in 2002. Lucia then obtained a Master's Degree in Workplace Risk Prevention Management from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2006. Following that, they obtained a Master's Degree in High Specialization in Plastics and Rubbers from the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in 2009. Finally, they obtained a Physics Degree from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D. between 2006 and 2008.
