Victor Essel

Scientist at Aquatech Bioenergy

Dr. Essel has been at Aquatech BioEnergy since November 2014. His Ph.D. research at South Dakota State University in Brookings (2008-2013) focused on the “Development of pretreatment methods for the efficient conversion of lignocellulosic materials into ethanol” which gave him invaluable experience in green processes, biomass conversion to cellulosic ethanol, and sample purification. During his postdoctoral training (2013-2014) he gained experience in laboratory management and methods development. At Aquatech, he is responsible for the analysis and extraction of bioproducts, method development, biomass conversion processes and the purification and characterization of plant and water chemicals. As a trained Analytical Chemist, he is well-qualified to conduct HPLC, UPLC and LC/MS, analysis of samples received.
