David Kelly

Principal Systems Engineer at Aquyre Biosciences

David Kelly has a long history of working in the field of engineering. David began their career in 1987 at MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Senior Project Tech, where they developed laser-based satellite communication systems for unnamed government organizations. In 1999, they moved to kSARIA as a Senior Process Engineer, where they developed fully automated equipment for fiber optics manufacturing. In 1998, they joined St Jude Medical as a Senior R&D Engineer, developing optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging systems for cardiovascular applications. In 2013, they joined Avedro, Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer. In 2015, they moved to Optimum Technologies, Inc. as a Principle Systems Engineer and Project Manager. In 2017, they became the first employee at SpectraWAVE, Inc., where they were the Director of OCT Engineering and Co-Founder. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Aquyre Biosciences, Inc. as a Principal Systems Engineer, developing game-changing cancer detection technology using Full Field Optical Coherence Tomography (FFOCT). David is currently managing advanced prototype development and production enhancement projects.

David Kelly obtained an Associates degree in Medical Electronics Engineering from the Benjamin Franklin Institute / Tufts School of Medicine between 1985 and 1987. During this time, they also obtained a Soldering and ESD Control certification from NASA and a Top Secret Security Clearance from the United States Air Force. David also holds a Six Sigma/TQM Process Improvement Certificate from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
