Omar Shomali

Omar Shomali has extensive experience in the banking industry, with a focus on treasury and sales. Omar started their career at Standard Chartered Bank in 2006, where they began as an Associate/Director in Financial Market Sales and was later promoted to cover a significant portion of the bank's corporate clients. During their time at Standard Chartered Bank, Omar successfully marketed and booked various types of derivatives and structured deposits, including a pioneering commodity pulp hedge in the MENA region.

Omar then joined Citi in 2010 as a Sales and Derivatives Marketing Manager before moving to Arab Bank in 2011, where they worked in the Treasury Structured Solutions Group until 2014.

From 2014 to 2017, Omar worked at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi as an Executive Director in GM Sales.

Since 2017, Omar has been with Arab Bank, initially as Vice President in Treasury and currently serving as Senior Vice President in the same department.

Omar Shomali is a CFA Level 2 Candidate from the CFA Institute. Omar also holds a Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Jordan.
