Richard Bistline, Ph.D. has a long and varied career in law enforcement and education. In 1993, they began their career as a Police Officer for the City of Smyrna Police Department. Richard then moved to the Tempe Police Department in 1998, where they were a Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer. In 2000, they joined the Fairfax County Government as a Police Officer, Staff Instructor, and Adjunct Instructor. In 2005, they became a Trainer, Consultant, and Expert Witness for Nightclub Security Consultants. From 2014 to 2018, they held various roles at Versaterm Inc. and Southern New Hampshire University, including Adjunct Faculty and Account Manager, Implementation Specialist, and Project Manager. In 2018, they became an Engagement Manager for Alcohol Monitoring Systems / SCRAM Systems. Richard was also an Adjunct Professor at Grand Canyon University from 2017 to 2023. Finally, since 2023, they have been a Senior Client Success Manager at The Arbinger Institute.
Richard Bistline, Ph.D. has an extensive education history. Richard obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Safety Leadership from Capella University between 2008 and 2015. In 2021 and 2022, they received a Certificate of Achievement in Executive Leadership Coaching from the Rice University Doerr Institute for New Leaders. Richard also obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Phoenix between 2005 and 2007, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Business Administration / Management between 1998 and 2005. Additionally, they earned an Associates of Arts in Criminal Justice from HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College between 1990 and 1993. Furthermore, they have obtained various certifications, including a Measurement Specialist from The Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University in August 2022, an EQ-i 2.0 & EQ360 (scientifically validated Emotional Intelligence assessment) from The EQ Development Group in March 2022, an ASIS Member from ASIS International in January 2022, and an ICF Member Badge from the International Coaching Federation in October 2021.
