Matthew Pescud has a diverse and extensive work experience in the banking and finance industry. Matthew started their career at National Archive as a Marketing Assistant in 1996. Matthew then worked as an Operations Assistant at Barclays plc in 1997. From 1998 to 2003, they held various roles at Lloyds TSB, including Account Manager, Credit Manager, and Restructuring Manager.
In 2006, Pescud joined Lloyds Banking Group as an Associate Director in Acquisition Finance. Matthew was responsible for credit management and origination of leveraged transactions. Matthew later took on the role of Senior Credit Risk Manager in the Ireland Business Support Unit, where they had a pivotal role in introducing distressed property auctions and restructuring solutions. Matthew was later promoted to London Portfolio Head, overseeing a portfolio of Real Estate, Corporate, and Commercial borrowers.
In 2013, Pescud became a Senior Manager in Committee and Country Risk Management at Lloyds Banking Group. Matthew managed the approval of sovereign limit requests and was in charge of the governance and administration of credit committees.
From 2016 to 2020, they worked at United Trust Bank Limited, starting as a Senior Credit Officer and later becoming the Head of Portfolio Credit Risk. Matthew was responsible for credit risk mitigation across various loan types and played a key role in strengthening credit risk frameworks at the bank.
In 2020, Pescud joined Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Ltd as the Head of Credit Portfolio Management & Assurance, where they currently hold the role.
Matthew Pescud attended Hampton School from 1991 to 1996. From 2000 to 2004, they pursued Financial Services Management at IFS Distance Learning, although they did not obtain a specific degree during this period.
