Graham Steeves

Nuclear Systems Engineer at ARC Clean Energy

Graham’s love for math, chemistry, physics, and building Lego directed him to take and complete his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. During his degree, he began to learn about nuclear energy from courses such as Energy and the Environment. Graham had a university work term at exp Ltd in Fredericton followed by two terms at ADI Systems Inc.’s (now Evoqua) wastewater treatment laboratory in Oromocto. His senior design project was to design a process that would convert lobster shells from fish processing plants into medical-grade chitosan.

Wanting to learn more about nuclear power, Graham went back to UNB Fredericton to take a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. He wrote his thesis on corrosion in a theoretical next-generation CANDU reactor, which was part of Canada’s next-generation nuclear research program. His research findings were presented in Helsinki, Finland as part of the Generation IV International Forum.
