Arc Institute
Chris Hsiung is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, in the Institute for Human Genetics and the Department of Surgery, and an affiliate of the Innovative Genomics Institute since November 2019. Hsiung has also held roles as a Visiting Scholar at the Arc Institute since April 2022 and at Stanford University School of Medicine from July 2017 to November 2024. Previous experience includes serving as an Instructor in the Department of Pathology at Stanford University and completing residency training in Clinical Pathology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania from August 2009 to May 2017. Hsiung earned both an M.D. and Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Additional research experience includes positions at the Thorner Lab and Hannon Lab during undergraduate studies.
