Emily Weiss is a scientist at Arcadia Science since July 2022, focusing on intermicrobial interactions through high-throughput sequencing methods. Previously, Emily served as a postdoctoral scientist and researcher/PhD candidate at UC San Diego from September 2015 to July 2022, where research centered on bacterial fitness in relation to microbial neighbors. Emily has also been involved in teaching molecular biology techniques as a teaching assistant and gained internship experience in genomic applications at Illumina. Earlier research roles include positions at DuPont, where protein and RNA production in genetically engineered soybean was characterized, and the University of Georgia, where genetic engineering of soybean for ketocarotenoid production was performed. Emily holds a PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from UC San Diego, a microMBA from the Rady School of Management, and advanced degrees in Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Genomics from the University of Georgia.
