Hannes Basson has extensive work experience at ArcelorMittal South Africa. Hannes started in 2006 as a Sales Manager in the Construction & Engineering division. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Marketing Manager for Market & Product Development, where they were responsible for managing market and product development initiatives for all steel products. Hannes also played a key role in determining market steel consumption, drafting multi-year proposals, and improving sales forecast accuracy. From 2012 to 2017, they served as the Manager of Market Intelligence, responsible for creating and maintaining accurate market intelligence and translating it into plans and strategies. Hannes managed a team of three senior specialists in this role. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as the Manager of Operational Marketing, and starting from 2020, they have been serving as the Principal Specialist for Business Processes, Trade, and Projects.
Hannes Basson completed their MBA in Strategic Thinking at North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a NDI in Industrial Engineering from the University of Technology from 1985 to 1988.
