Carolyn Hafernik

Carolyn Hafernik has over fourteen years of work experience in the data science and machine learning fields. Carolyn began their career in 2007 as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at The Pennsylvania State University. In 2010, they were an Intern at the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems, where they worked on the Privacy Preserving Advertising (PRIVAD) project. In 2012, they joined C9 Inc. as a Data Scientist and Research Consultant, where they worked on product to predict the probability that a sales opportunity will be won. In 2015, they joined InsideSales.com via the acquisition of C9 Inc. and continued the work they had begun at C9 Inc. In 2018, they joined MariaDB Corporation as a Data Scientist/ Development Engineer. Currently, they are a Senior ML Engineer at Archipelago.

Carolyn Hafernik obtained a Master of Science in Information Sciences and Technology from the College of Information Sciences and Technology at The Pennsylvania State University in 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and History from Mount Holyoke College in 2007.
