Senior Manager, Technical Engagement at Architecture for REDD+ Transactions (ART)

Julia Paltseva is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental science and management. Currently serving as a Senior Manager of Technical Engagement at Architecture for REDD+ Transactions since May 2023, Julia previously held various roles at the Environmental Defense Fund from September 2016 to April 2023, including Senior Research Analyst focused on climate and forests, as well as analytical positions in marketing and communications. Julia's experience also encompasses management and coordination of the Tree Canopy Fund at EcoAction Arlington from November 2016 to January 2023, alongside teaching assistant roles at UCSB's Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology department and other academic positions. Julia earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at UCSB and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University, complemented by a study abroad experience in Spanish language and society at Universitat d'Alacant.

The Architecture for REDD+ Transactions (ART) is a global initiative that seeks to incentivize governments to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), as well as restore forests and protect intact forests (+). ART provides a credible standard and rigorous process to transparently register, verify, and issue REDD+ emission reduction and removal credits that ensure environmental and social integrity.
