Additionally, Sowmya worked as an Engagement Manager at PayPal from December 2016 to May 2018, where they played a key role in payments integration planning and development. Sowmya also influenced product strategy and acted as a mentor for junior engineers. Prior to PayPal, they worked as a Software Engineer at IFS North America and as a Systems Engineer at Infosys. Sowmya's professional journey began as an Information Systems Intern at Bosch Ltd. in 2010.
Sowmya Prabhakara holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University. In addition to their formal education, Sowmya has also obtained certifications in Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org in March 2016 and Senior Systems Manager, CNSS # 4012 from INFOSEC Professionals, NSTISSI # 4011 in May 2013.
