Sowmya Prabhakara

Sowmya Prabhakara has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Sowmya currently works as a Senior Project Manager, ECommerce at Arc'teryx Equipment since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Sr Project Manager, Quality Systems at Facebook from May 2021 to January 2023. Sowmya also has experience working at PayPal, where they held the position of Channel Manager, Digital Customer Care Strategy from May 2018 to May 2021. During their time at PayPal, they successfully implemented customer contact reduction strategies, drove chatbot abatement goals, and expanded the CS Chatbot capability by launching new bot skills. Additionally, Sowmya worked as an Engagement Manager at PayPal from December 2016 to May 2018, where they played a key role in payments integration planning and development. Sowmya also influenced product strategy and acted as a mentor for junior engineers. Prior to PayPal, they worked as a Software Engineer at IFS North America and as a Systems Engineer at Infosys. Sowmya's professional journey began as an Information Systems Intern at Bosch Ltd. in 2010.

Sowmya Prabhakara holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University. In addition to their formal education, Sowmya has also obtained certifications in Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org in March 2016 and Senior Systems Manager, CNSS # 4012 from INFOSEC Professionals, NSTISSI # 4011 in May 2013.
