Dave Ockwell-Jenner

Dave Ockwell-Jenner has diverse work experience in the field of information security and technology. Dave is currently serving as the Vice President of Information Security at Arctic Wolf Networks since January 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the President of Prime Information Security, a company specializing in secure SDLC implementation, application and infrastructure penetration testing, and security program consultation. Dave also served as a Guest Blogger for TELUS Talks Business during their time at Prime Information Security.

Dave Ockwell-Jenner is also recognized as the Co-Founder of The Small Business Community Network (SBCN), which they started in November 2003. Dave'srole in SBCN is ongoing.

In their role at SITA, Dave served as the Senior Manager of Security Threat & Operational Risk Management (STORM) from June 2015 to December 2019. Dave led a team of cyber security professionals focused on detecting, analyzing, and defending against cyber threats to the air transport industry. Dave was also responsible for shaping the company's overall cyber security program, including risk management, operational security, and secure product lifecycle.

Prior to SITA, Dave held various roles at Research In Motion, including System Architect of Web Technologies from January 2004 to March 2007. In this role, they delivered a web content management solution and led an internal application development team. Dave also acted as a trusted consultant to various parts of the organization in understanding, protecting, and effectively using information.

At Nortel Networks, Dave served as the Web Development Manager from 1993 to 2002. Dave pitched the idea of an integrated web development team within Nortel, which eventually became a reality. Dave built some of the earliest web applications using the web as an application platform.

Throughout their career, Dave Ockwell-Jenner has demonstrated expertise in information security, software development, and web technologies, serving in diverse roles and making significant contributions to the organizations they have worked for.

Dave Ockwell-Jenner received a BEng. degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering from the University of Bath from 1993 to 1996. Dave also attended Torquay Boys' Grammar School, but no specific degree or field of study was provided. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst certification from the Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in December 2014. In 2009, they obtained the GIAC Advisory Board certification and the GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) certification. In 2006, they obtained the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC).
