Ardmac are seeking application for the position of MEP Lead/Project Engineer which is open for Waterford. 

Job purpose

  • Manage and support the Business Units’ Mechanical & Electrical Division to ensure timely delivery, high quality, cost targets of all technical output to client and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Delegated accountability for project area delivery, meeting safety, schedule, quality and cost targets.
  • Plant submittals for equipment procurement. RFI’s. O&M’s
  • Managing of all Capital plant deliveries & installation.
  • Maintaining Submittal & Procurement Schedules
  • Off / On-site inspection of plant and services.
  • Draft Commissioning Protocols / Training Plans/ Schedules
  • Management of construction / subcontractors as appointed by Project Manager
  • Mock-Ups
  • Understanding & Implementation of IMS IT Platform
  • Communication of HSEQ Alerts / Near Misses
  • IT literacy
  • Use Of Technology to Enhance Project Goals and Profitability

Duties and responsibilities

Responsible for:   

  • Ensure successful delivery of M&E project scope which meets business needs. Deliver cost-effective projects in line with our procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and performance in the implementation of projects.
  • Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, M&E contractors, and construction teams.
  • Identify effective & innovative engineering design solutions which meet project design & client / end user requirements.
  • Ensure that equipment qualification activities are completed in line with local procedures, cGMP and best practices.
  • Develop and improve new and existing standards within the engineering department improving the service offered to clients/end-users.
  • Manage project schedules for M&E to plan and track project activities over the life-cycle of the project from procurement, delivery, construction, QA walkdown and turnover.
  • Manage project system risk registers with appropriate monitoring and tracking of mitigation actions agreed.
  • Manage multi discipline project stakeholder input as required for successful project delivery.
  • Ideally experience at an manufacturing or construction site (e.g. experience with all mechanical piping systems, drying systems, HVAC, utilities, reactors, centrifuges, vacuum, heat/cooling systems etc)
  • Acting as the on-site representative for Ardmac with full responsibility and ownership for the delivery of the mechanical & electrical services installation and quality.
  • Ensure effective implementation of “right first time” technical delivery of project output.
  • Review, report and monitor on activities of M+E sub-contractors in relation to design, technical, quality, programme, build ability and commercial areas.
  • Review weekly Progress Reports for Mechanical and Electrical sub-contractors.
  • Chairing Mechanical and Electrical technical co-ordination meetings and producing minutes in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with QA Turnover team to ensure systems are ready for handover to QA team and construction programmes are in place on all projects and managed to achieve requirements.
  • Ensure Quality control of M+E installed works progressively clearing defects and supervising testing.
  • Liaising with and developing good working relationships with site managers / site personnel and relevant contractors.

Qualifications and experience

Qualifications:

  • BSc. In Building Services Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Ability and knowledge of:

  • Detailed knowledge of Statutory and Regulatory Procedures

  • Cleanrooms & Construction Building Services best practice.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with demonstrated capability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation is required.
