With 20 years of experience, Melissa’s entire Human Resources career has been inclusive of working in the nonprofit human services industry. She has provided HR leadership, guidance, and training to organizations who provide quality services to various populations such as intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, behavioral health, youth services, addiction recovery, senior living, returning citizens, veterans, and homeless shelters.
Melissa began her career at a large nonprofit organization in Philadelphia where she held the role of a Regional Human Resources Generalist for the majority of her tenure. She was responsible for overseeing several regional divisions of the organization. She provided HR guidance and consultation to help managers understand programmatic needs and develop solutions to meet their objectives.
Later, she moved to Maryland where she worked for a DDA agency provider as the Assistant Director of Human Resources. Prior to her engagement with Ardmore, Melissa was the Director of Human Resources with a nonprofit agency where worked with the organization’s regional leaders and oversaw and provided HR guidance in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and the North Carolina regions.
Melissa earned a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a declared minor in Psychology. She takes Ardmore's mission and vision of supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities according to their choices and needs to heart. Thus, she is passionate about instilling a culture of “excellence in customer service” to complement the organizations mission and enhance employee value.
