Anthony Blackburn

Anthony Blackburn, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Anthony started their career at Pfizer in 1995 as an Associate Research Fellow and worked there until 2007. At Pfizer, they gained expertise in research and development.

In 2007, Blackburn joined Arena Pharmaceuticals as the Sr. Director of Preformulation. Anthony was responsible for overseeing preformulation initiatives until 2017 when they became the Head of Drug Product Development and Manufacturing. In 2019, Blackburn was promoted to Vice President, overseeing drug product development and manufacturing at Arena Pharmaceuticals until 2023.

Currently, Blackburn works as a CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) Consultant, leveraging their vast experience in drug development and manufacturing.

Anthony Blackburn, Ph.D. completed their education at The Ohio State University from 1988 to 1994, where they earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry with an emphasis on Crystallography. Anthony also obtained a certification in "Improving Your Thinking" from LinkedIn in 2021.
