Maria Joshi

Maria Joshi has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and clinical research field. Maria began their career as a Process Chemist at Agilent Technologies, where they were responsible for custom synthesis of silanes for HPLC columns. Maria then worked as a Research Associate at Takeda San Diego, Inc., and later as a Senior Research Associate at Phenomix Corporation, where they focused on chemical synthesis and pre-clinical evaluation.

Maria then transitioned into clinical research roles, starting as a Clinical Trials Assistant at Phenomix Corporation. Maria later joined PRA Health Sciences as an In House CRA III, then moved on to become a Clinical Research Associate and eventually a Clinical Research Associate II.

In 2013, Maria joined Intercept Pharmaceuticals as the Manager of Clinical Operations, where they developed and oversaw the Clinical Operations infrastructure, managed interactions with consultants and vendors, and supervised the execution of clinical trials. Maria then took on the role of Senior Clinical Research Associate, responsible for all phases of clinical study development.

Maria's most recent positions include Clinical Project Manager at Samumed, LLC, and currently, they are the Director of Clinical Operations at Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Maria Joshi has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Stony Brook University, which they obtained from 1986 to 1991. Maria further pursued a Master's degree in Chemistry from Stony Brook University, completing it from 1991 to 1993. Maria also holds a High School Diploma in the Honors/Regents High School/Secondary Diploma Program from LD Brandeis, which they obtained from 1982 to 1986. Additionally, Maria has a certification in Clinical Trial Design and Management from UC San Diego Extension. No specific dates of obtaining this certification are provided.
