Evert Somers

Evert Somers has extensive work experience in the field of compensation and benefits. Evert is currently the Global Head of Reward & Recognition at Argenx, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to that, they were the Global Head of Compensation & Benefits at Akka Technologies from January to September 2020. Before joining Akka Technologies, Evert worked at Tessenderlo Group as the Global Compensation & Benefits Lead from April 2019 to January 2020, and as the Global Compensation & Benefits Manager from January 2017 to March 2019. Evert also has experience at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. as the EMEA Compensation & Benefits Specialist from December 2014 to December 2016. Earlier in their career, Evert worked at Deloitte Belgium, where they held various roles including Senior Tax Consultant from September 2012 to November 2014 and Tax Consultant from September 2009 to August 2012. Evert also had a short-term assignment as a Senior Tax Consultant in Japan from January 2013 to May 2013.

Evert Somers has a Postgraduate degree in Strategic HR Management from Vlerick Business School, which they completed in 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Management with a focus on Accountancy & Tax from Hogeschool PXL, which they completed in 2009. In addition to their formal education, Evert has obtained certifications in Korn Ferry Hay Job Grading - Guide Chart Profile Method from Korn Ferry Hay Group in 2017 and in Belgian Employment Law from Cevora/Cefora in 2015.
