Sinan Demir

Sinan Demir is a Research Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory since June 2019, specializing in the integration of physics-based and data-driven turbulent combustion models and developing non-equilibrium plasma-assisted ignition models for hypersonic propulsion. Prior to this role, Sinan served as a Postdoctoral Researcher, implementing deep learning models in NASA's VULCAN-CFD and conducting advanced simulations for supersonic and hypersonic flows. A Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology focused on combustion modeling and uncertainty quantification, Sinan also gained experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at West Virginia University, where analytical frameworks for combustion accidents and flame acceleration modeling were developed. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from West Virginia University and a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Gaziantep Üniversitesi.
