Ulfar F Stefansson

Ulfar F Stefansson has extensive work experience in risk management and finance. Ulfar F began their career in 2004 as a Quantitative Analyst at Kaupthing Bank, where they developed and maintained software for financial instrument pricing, credit modeling, and risk measurement. In 2010, they joined Kaupthing, Winding-up Committee as the Head of Risk Management and also worked as a Derivatives specialist. In 2011, they became an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Iceland, where they taught until 2014. In 2013, they joined Arion banki, initially serving as the Head of Portfolio Risk and later as the Head of Balance Sheet Risk. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Risk Officer at Arion banki.

Ulfar F Stefansson pursued their education in mathematics, with a focus on earning a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. This endeavor spanned from 2005 to 2010. Prior to this, from 2005 to 2007, they also completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mathematics at the same institution. Ulfar F Stefansson obtained their initial academic qualification in mathematics by earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Háskóli Íslands, which they pursued from 2001 to 2004.
