Alex Henry

Player Development Coach at Arizona Coyotes

Alex Henry is a retired professional hockey player who now serves as a player development coach for the Arizona Coyotes. Alex was drafted in the third round of the 1998 NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers and went on to play 15 seasons in the AHL, NHL, and European leagues. Alex was designated team leader on 8 teams during their career, including 4 team captaincies, and served as team captain for one month at the NHL level. Alex is known for their professionalism, hard work, dedication, exceptional physical fitness, and leadership. Alex completed University correspondence courses periodically during their playing career, including sociology, psychology, economics and anthropology. Their junior hockey team awards include Most Improved Player in their first year, Most Valuable Defenceman in their final year, and Scholastic Player of the Year all 3 years. Alex also played in the Top Prospects game in 1998 and the All-Star game in 1999.
