James O'Donnell is an experienced academic and leader in the field of library and information science. Currently serving as Deputy at the Offline Internet Consortium since February 2018, James O'Donnell focuses on supporting organizations that enhance access to quality information for marginalized communities. In addition, O'Donnell has been the University Librarian and Professor at Arizona State University since February 2015, and held prior positions as University Professor and Provost at Georgetown University from June 2002 to June 2015, as well as Vice Provost at the University of Pennsylvania from 1996 to 2002. James O'Donnell holds a BA in Classics and Classical Languages from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Medieval Studies from Yale University.
