Alistair Harris has a diverse work experience in the field of conflict and stabilisation programming. Alistair is currently working as a Deployable Civilian Expert with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's Office of Conflict Stabilisation and Mediation. In this role, they have been assigned various tasks including counter-terrorism assessment in the Maldives, development of a P/CVE toolbox, and conducting a Joint Analysis of Conflict and Stability in Jordan.
Prior to their current position, Alistair served as the Chief Executive Officer of ARK Group DMCC starting in 2011. Alistair was responsible for delivering specialised in-conflict and stabilisation programming in countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, Morocco, Indonesia, and Nigeria. Alistair'sthematic areas of focus included governance, refugees, youth, strategic communications, public accountability, human rights, PCVE, and civil society capacity building.
From 2008 to 2013, Alistair worked as the Director of Pursue Ltd. During this time, they contributed to various projects and programmes, including the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Conflict Pool Programme of Activities on Palestinian issues, support for Yemeni civil society, and evaluation and research services for the US Government International Narcotics and Law Enforcement.
Prior to Pursue Ltd, Alistair worked as a Consultant for the British Embassy in 2006. Alistair served as a Deployed Civilian Expert with the UK Post Conflict Reconstruction Unit in Beirut, Lebanon, where they worked on donor coordination and Security Sector Reform. Alistair also implemented programmes and projects for the US, UK, Germany, the EU, and UN.
Before their consultancy work, Alistair worked as a War Crimes Investigator for the UK FCO and UN International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia from 2002 to 2005. Alistair started their career as a Diplomat with the UK FCO in 1996, where they remained until 2002.

Alistair Harris earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from London Business School in 2017. In 2010, they completed an MLitt in Terrorism and Political Violence at St Andrews University. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1996, they attended Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where they obtained an MA in Social and Political Sciences with a focus on Political Science and Government.
