Simon Childs

Simon Childs is an experienced fire safety professional currently serving as an Associate Fire Consultant at Rider Levett Bucknall since May 2024. Simon holds Members status of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFireE) and has an Edexcel Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Inspector). Previously, Simon worked as a Fire Consultant at Fire Safety Consultancy from January 2020 to May 2024 and spent nearly 30 years with the UK Ministry of Defence, where roles included Defence Fire Safety Regulator Group Manager and various fire safety management positions within the Defence Fire & Rescue Service. Additional experience includes building surveying for FIRE AND RISK MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATES LTD and service as a firefighter with North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service. Simon began a career in the HM Forces as a Sapper with the Army Corps of Royal Engineers.
