Michael Salinsky

Michael Salinsky has a diverse work experience in finance and real estate spanning over 16 years. Michael joined Armada Hoffler Properties in 2019 as the Director of Finance. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, they served as the Vice President of Portfolio Management at Essex Property Trust, Inc. In this role, they built an internal valuation and analytics platform and developed asset and portfolio allocation plans.

Before Essex Property Trust, Inc., Michael worked at RBC Capital Markets for 9 years, from 2006 to 2015. Michael held the position of Vice President and Director of Equity Research, leading sell-side US equity research coverage for residential, lodging, and storage sectors.

From 2004 to 2006, they worked at KeyBanc Capital Markets as a Real Estate Investment Trust Research Analyst, supporting sell-side associate analyst covering US REITs. Prior to that, in 2003, they started their post-graduate career at FTN Midwest Securities as an Accounting Research Associate, conducting forensic accounting analysis.

Throughout their career, Michael has contributed to strategic planning, new investment underwriting, relationship management, budgeting, financing, valuation analysis, and distribution functions. Michael Salinsky attended John Carroll University from 1998 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree. Michael'smajors were in Finance and Accounting, and they minored in Economics and Finance. After their formal education, Michael also obtained additional certifications, including Executive Leadership from LinkedIn and Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 licenses from FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).
