Karl Hausafus

Karl Hausafus has an extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field. Karl most recently served as the Principal, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at Arnerich Massena, Inc. There, they led legal and compliance programs for a SEC-registered investment advisor managing nearly $9 billion in assets. Prior to their role at Arnerich Massena, Inc., Hausafus was the Chief Legal Officer at Saturna Capital, where they oversaw legal and compliance activities for an investment management firm and its affiliates. Karl also held the position of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Oregon State Treasury, where they directed the Legal and Compliance Division for the state's $90 billion investment program. Additionally, Hausafus served as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Arnerich Massena, Inc., managing legal and compliance programs for an SEC-registered investment advisor. Earlier in their career, they worked as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Compass Advisors LLC and held the position of Senior Associate Attorney at K&L Gates, focusing on various legal areas such as corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and finance. Hausafus began their career as a Manager at People's Credit Company.

Karl Hausafus earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2000, specializing in Federal Tax Law and Small and Emerging Business Law. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree at the University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business from 1988 to 1993, with a double major in Business Management and Marketing, and double minors in Journalism and English Literature. Additionally, they obtained certifications including a Series 24 License, Series 66 License, and Series 7 License through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in 2006. Karl also passed the Oregon Bar and Washington Bar exams in September 2000.
