Poonam Arora (she/her)

Poonam Arora has over 15 years of experience in international trade compliance and government contracts. Poonam is currently a Member of the Board of Directors at Madison International Trade Association since 2022. Poonam previously worked at Arnold Magnetic Technologies as the Director of Global Trade Compliance and Government Contracts, where they created a trade compliance program from scratch. Prior to that, they worked at IDEX Corporation as the Corporate Compliance Manager and Empowered Official, where their responsibilities included overseeing import and export compliance and leading compliance practices. Poonam also has experience at CNH Industrial as the North America International Trade Compliance Manager, at ScriptPro as the Logistics Manager, and at UPS Supply Chain Solutions as a Classification Specialist. Poonam has a strong background in auditing, training, and finding solutions to ensure compliance in various industries. Poonam has also served on the Board of Directors for the International Trade Council of Greater Kansas City.

Poonam Arora has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Ottawa University, which they obtained in 2013-2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Management with an emphasis in International Trade Compliance from Ottawa University in 2009-2010. Additionally, in 1988-1989, Poonam attended Johnson County Community College and completed an Associates degree, although the field of study is not specified.

In terms of certifications, Poonam has obtained several certifications related to exporting and international trade. In 2019, they obtained certifications in Advanced Exporting, Customs Procedures & Documentation, Introduction to Export Licensing Controls, Introduction to Exporting Training Course, Introduction to Importing Training Course, and Post Brexit Documentation and Compliance from The Institute of Export & International Trade. In 2015, they obtained the ECTI ECoP® Certification from the Export Compliance Training Institute, Inc. Poonam also holds certifications such as the Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) from The International Import-Export Institute, obtained in 2008, and a LICENSED CUSTOMS BROKER certification from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, obtained in 2007.
